Welp. You might be wondering what I have been up to since I haven't posted on here in a while. Two big things have happened (outside of snuggling, eating, and playing a lot...oh, and filling up mommy's camera with great pics of me).
I'm so happy that mommy and I are going to be together forever. She's really my best friend and I love sleeping on her face at night.

Since Surprise Party (now Rupert) went to his furever home on Monday, I have gotten some quality time in with mommy. She is getting used to giving me more attention than before in the mornings when I was used to playing with my brother. At night time, I am WAY MORE snuggly, which she loves. I sleep on her chest or pillow all night unless I get too warm - then I sleep right next to her. I have been waking up early to make sure I get some love from her and she has been helping me find alternatives to licking her face or nibbling on her ears, nose, or mouth.
This week I also discovered what a screened window is. I am used to looking out through the glass, but because the weather has been so nice, mommy opened the windows and I have been spending hours on the windowsill checking out the world outside. I wish I had a screened in patio. That would be AWESOME. Foster mommy has been on the fence about whether she should keep me forever. There have been several applications to adopt me that have fallen through and it seems more and more that the universe wants us to stay together. BUT that would make it hard for mommy to foster more animals or bring doggies home for enrichment. She always wasn't wanting to commit to long-term stuff knowing that travel is a big part of her life when the world isn't closed. That's all to say, I'm still technically available for adoption for the perfect fit - maybe it's foster mommy or maybe it's you. Since Friday, we (Surprise Party & Party Animal) have been getting to spend some quality time together. Since Party Hat (now Mowgli) and Birthday Cake (now Olive) have gone to their furever homes, we are left to spend time as bros together. We have been playing hard in the mornings, sleeping most morning, then making sure mommy knows we are awake in the afternoons. I don't think she likes us being on her keyboard as much as we are or meowing loudly while she's trying to present in her meetings, but she still loves us. We have been able to get some good snuggles in with her this week, too. Our new favorite way to wake her up in the mornings after sleeping with her all night is to lick her face. I'm not sure why we like licking her face so much, other than its our way of showing love.
Today was a big day for Party Hat! After weeks of waiting, he was finally able to go to his furever home! Foster mommy’s co-worker and beat friend knew from the minute she met him that she wanted him. She put in an app weeks ago and has been waiting until he was altered to take him home. Today was the day that Party Hat became Mowgli, moving in with his new mommy, daddy, cat siblings and dog!
Today was a big day for Surprise Party. One of foster mommy’s co-workers has been looking to add a kitten to her pack of cats. She saw a post foster mommy made at work about his brother Party Animal and realized it was time to bring a beer kitty friend in! She came over to meet all of the kitties. Party Hat fell asleep on her right away and Party Animal climbed up, too. But as soon as Surprise Party got her attention it was game over. He is a perfect match for his new older sister. We are thinking his new name will be Neville, which fits him perfectly and aligns with the names of his sisters (who are named after witches). Did you recognize the Harry Potter reference of my new name?
This was our first full day away from foster mommy in a while. It was a rather confusing start to the day because mommy didn’t feed us right when she woke up like normal. Next thing we knew, we were in our kitty carrier in the car. We fell asleep right away because that’s what we do. Next thing we knew, we were at Stray Rescue. Hours later, we woke up with shaved bellies and bums and without our boy parts. Mommy came to get us and when we heard her voice we started yelling for her. As soon as we got home, we broke all the rules the vet gave mommy and ran around like crazy animals. Those pain killers must have given us super powers.
Bummer! Our brother, Party Animal, has a pending adoption but the family that was interested in him found some kitty friends on a farm this weekend so that fell through. Even though he had a lot of applications in for him, none of those worked out either. Here’s why: as little kitties, we aren’t adopted out by ourselves. That means that a special family needs to a) be willing to adopt two kitties at the same time or b) already have a kitty at home. We are hopeful that the right family will match each of us.Right now, Party Animal and Surprise Party are looking for their perfect family while Party Hat has an adoption pending with foster mommy’s co-worker and friend.

Right now, Party Animal and Surprise Party are looking for their perfect family while Party Hat has an adoption pending with foster mommy’s co-worker and friend. Today was a big day for our sister! She got adopted! Our foster mommy’s aunt and cousin have been thinking about adopting a kitty friend for their adult cat and our sister was a spittin’ image of her, so she has a new family today! Normally the shelter doesn’t adopt out at 8 weeks old but there were special circumstances involved and the stars aligned.
Oh! That reminds us, we got fully vetted today and we found out our age: we are 8 weeks old! That means we get to find our families and go home with them in two weeks after we get altered. We are going to soak up all the time we have left with our foster mommy until then. We now know what a couch and a kitty condo are! And let me tell you: they are both awesome! Now that the flea family has moved out, we got a chance to hang out with mommy in the living room. There's a kitty condo in front of the window and a comfy couch. Mommy read some books on the couch while we laid on her. Since we are small, we all fit on her chest and tummy.
We also got to play with new toys. There's this little thing we haven't figured out yet that runs around on the floor that we can't figure out how to catch yet. It buzzes and moves. We even found a catnip toy mommy didn't know she had under the couch. Apartment life is the best! |
